BOOZY BRUNCHES

BRUNK'N #1: "COLD-SMOKED" LOX & BAGELS WITH CAVIAR & SPARKLING WINE

Yes, I am a huge bruncher! I prefer it, in fact, to breakfast or a lunch. So you'll be seeing lots of brunch ideas here! This one was a simple pull-together to satisfy a craving. Thinly sliced and lightly toasted mini-bagels with a cream cheese and fresh dill weed mixture (just blend those two ingredients and smear), add salmon and your preferred topping, be it caviar or any variety of roe, capers, cucumbers or more dill... Pair with champagne/sparkling wine. Decadence with ease.

BRUNK'N #2: CRAB CAKES WITH SRIRACHA AIOLI & SALAD WITH SAUVIGNON BLANC

Yes, this one works as an appetizer, a meal or a brunch item. Couple of showstoppers here: Obviously, the crabcakes, especially when they're high-quality, either homemade or store-bought. The salad base is a great addition. I will either do broccoli slaw or a combo of spinach, arugula and red leaf (a spring mix) with veggies (slivers of carrots, multi-colored peppers, mushrooms, asparagus... really, whatever you love), tossed in a light vinaigrette or champagne dressing (olive oil and lemon work well here, too). The crowning jewel is a creamy and spicy sriracha aioli--basically, mayo, sriracha, lemon (or lime) and garlic. You can make the aioli creamier with emulsified egg yolks. Pair with a crisp Sauvignon Blanc for add pop. Enjoy!
